Michigan’s Atlantis?

Many are not aware of Michigan’s underwater ghost town. I wasn’t aware until I came across this story that calls the town “Michigan’s Atlantis.” Under Belleville Lake is the former city of Rawsonville. You’ve seen the Rawsonville exit off of I-94, that is what takes you to the lake. I have been to Belleville Lake many times and had no clue of the once thriving buried town.

Rawsonville was a thriving town until the late 1800’s with production company’s, saloons, and many other shops. The city later became a ghost town and was covered when the Huron River was dammed to create Belleville Lake in 1925. More here.
