Slash Mentors ‘School of Rock’ Teens on Broadway

School's out for summer, but the School of Rock is always in session.

After a triumphant birthday performance in New Jersey last weekend, Slash swung by Broadway to give the teens of School of Rock some pointers. When the group of actor-musicians began rehearsing “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” Slash, himself, hopped onstage to show the children how it’s done.

“It was really cool to meet such an enthusiastic and talented bunch of young rock ‘n’ rollers,” the guitarist told Rolling Stone. “They were great kids as well as players.”

The musical, of course, is an adaptation of the Jack Black movie which holds a special place in the heart of rock fans of all ages. Watch a clip from the impromptu performance here:
