A new WalletHub study lists Michigan among the worst states for student debt.
Michigan ranked 39th in the study which included all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
WalletHub’s analysts examined nine key metrics to determine which states are friendliest towards student-loan debotrs. Their data set ranged from “average student debt” to “unemployment rate for people aged 25 to 34” to “percentage of students with past-due loan balances.”
Utah, Wyoming and North Dakota ranked highest, while Oregon, West Virginia and District of Columbia rounded out the bottom.
