More Adults Are Living With Parents

By: Beau Daniels

Called multigenerational households, Market Watch is reporting that more and more adults are still living with their parents. The demo of 25 to 29 year-olds has over 30 percent living in a home of multigenerations. The term multigenerational is used because it’s not just parents providing the housing, it’s grandparents.

Other reports have revealed that many young adults in their low thirties are also living with their parents. School loans and lack of good paying jobs must be considered in the stats, but those without degrees are more likely. More Grandparents are being leaned on because of a 50 percent increase in the cost of childcare over the past 10 years. The trend is also causing the age of marriage to rise.
