Syfy’s ‘Ghost Hunters’ Air Episode Filmed at Detroit’s Whitney

By: Jon Corrigan

The David Whitney House, located on Woodward in Midtown Detroit, was built as a private residence in the late 19th century before being restored to a restaurant in 1986.

Rumors of supernatural activity have long been rumored to occur in the century-old building, primarily linked to the story of David Whitney Jr. and his wife both dying inside.

The mansion was recently investigated by Syfy channel’s Ghost Hunters, which aired their findings in a new episode on Wednesday night.

Before the episode aired, the Whitney’s owner Bud Libler gave his thoughts on the alleged hauntings.

“There has been a lot of activity,” Libler told Fox 2 Detroit. “People report seeing things and hearing things. We have some pictures and some little things have happened.”

“I still don’t know if there’s really ghosts. I really don’t. But I would be more of a ‘yes’ now, as opposed to a ‘no’ 10 years ago.”
