Backstreet boy Nick Carter gave a heads up on Instagram Monday (Aug. 15), that new music was coming.

Fans who know the history of Florida Georgia Line shouldn’t be too surprised by the collaboration. Band member Brian Kelly told the crowd at a recent show in South Dakota that Backstreet Boys was his first concert, and band mate Tyler Hubbard added that the first CD he ever bought by the boy band.. Then Florida Georgia Line covered Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody.”

Working with a band that was so influential in their youth tied into the Dig Your Roots theme about looking back and learning from where you’ve been. “We really wanted this album to reflect who we are and our lives in this moment, but also where we came from,” said Kelley.

Dig Your Roots also features the chart-topping single “H.O.L.Y.” and collaborations with Ziggy Marley (“Life is a Honeymoon”) and Tim McGraw (“May we All.”)
