The newly-released, Detroit-made Stroh’s beer will be available in 72 bars from Detroit to Grand Rapids Friday (August 26). This is the first time in about 20 years that Stroh’s has been available in kegs. The Detroit-brewed beer is available in bottles as well, but only in Michigan.
The Detroit brew is a Bohemian-Style Pilsner with higher-quality ingredients than the existing Stroh’s Lager or Light. It’s not fire-brewed — but has a fuller flavor, floral hops, and a nice, clean finish.
Numerous bars in Detroit as well as Downriver communities, Jackson, Ann Arbor and East Lansing are hosting events for the Pilsner that won a blue ribbon in the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago, according to the Stroh’s website.
It’s is also available at Brew Detroit, where it’s made. Only the Pilsner is made there – the other Stroh’s beers continue to be made in Ohio.
