Woman Chronicles 120+ Lb Weight-Loss Journey with 365 Days of Selfies

By: Jon Corrigan

After her husband’s devastating suicide, Justine McCabe turned to binge-eating as a coping mechanism.

Eventually, weighing 313 pounds, the 31-year-old realized she needed to make some drastic changes to her lifestyle.

So she did.

Now, a year after adopting a “clean” diet and working out six days a week, McCabe has lost 124 pounds; documenting her entire weight-loss transformation with daily selfies.

The person you see reflecting in the mirror…will provide you with the biggest challenges in life. The human spirit is powerful. Do the work. Suffer the setbacks, push past the pain and excuses. True motivation is not an outside source. It's staring directly back at you. There is nothing you cannot be, do or have. Live with no regrets and don't ever give up. This is what drives me. “The selfies were a massive encouragement for me. Whenever I didn’t want to go to the gym, I’d skim through them and realize why I was doing it all,” McCabe told Caters News, also tackling other challenges, like going parasailing and cliff jumping. “I knew if I could survive living without my husband and mum then I should push my boundaries and limits to face all fears I had, to live a life they would be proud of.”
