Ohio State Student Earns Class 100% Quiz Grades with Improbable Paper Ball Toss

By: Jon Corrigan

Organic chemistry isn’t one of those classes you look forward to taking, but getting an automatic 100% on the first quiz of the semester definitely softens the blow.

That’s exactly what an Ohio State University student did when he sank a long-range paper ball toss across the lecture hall into a trash can.

Every year, to demonstrate “donating a proton,” the professor throws a paper ball to the balcony, then offers to give the entire class a 100% on the first quiz if the person he threw the ball to could toss it into a trash can.

A student made the shot for the first time last year, but it wasn’t recorded on video. Good thing Vinny (originally misheard as Benny) came along to repeat the performance.

To be clear, in order to get the 100% on the quiz, the professor emphasized students still have to show up to recitation.

Not all heroes wear capes, even fewer attend Ohio State. You go, Vinny.
