You can use alcohol for lots of things besides fun drinks. If you listened to Bobby & Stacey’s Five Question Quiz you heard Stacey asking about some of the uses. Here’s a full list:
Mascot costumes can’t be drycleaned, they are cleaned with spray bottles of vodka.
Vodka also makes a great cleaner for windows and mirrors.
Add rosemary to vodka and use it to get rid of dandruff.
And a shot of vodka in your pie crust recipe will make it extra flaky.
If you pour it and a little sugar in a vase with cut flowers it will keep them from wilting.
And it removes sticky labels from glass jars and grime from chrome fixtures.
Hmmm …. why are we drinking this again?
Flat beer makes a great fertilizer for plants.
Gin and tonics were originally created to ward off malaria.
You can clean your jewelry by soaking it in gin.
Gin will also get rid of mold and mildew.
Got poison ivy? The oil from the plant sticks to your skin and causes the itching; vodka will rinse it away.
And it’s a much better idea than this:
Were you stung by a jellyfish? Pour beer or wine on it to take away the sting.
Whiskey will deodorize your cutting board.
Mix rum with honey and lemon to fight cold symptoms.
