Dancing With The Survivors® is an evening of dancing, music, cocktails, and delicious food to celebrate breast cancer survivors who thrive in their recovery and make a difference in the lives of other cancer patients. The event features local breast cancer survivors paired with professional dancers performing ballroom style dances and raising money for The Pink Fund’s mission.
These dancer/survivors have been practicing for four months and will quash their nerves to perform live at the Silver Gardens Event Center in Southfield starting at 6 pm. Stacey DuFord, of Bobby & Stacey, is the evening’s co-host and tickets start at $150. The money raised provides short-term financial aid to breast cancer patients in active treatment.
While in active treatment, many patients are unable to work and experience a loss of income that can result in catastrophic financial losses. The Pink Fund provides financial support to help meet basic needs, decrease stress levels, and allow breast cancer patients to focus on healing. Typically, The Pink Fund will make a direct bill payment for the maintenance of health insurance premiums and non-medical bills such as a house or rent payment, a car or vehicle lease payment, utility payments, and car insurance payments.
