Bob Dylan Wins Nobel Prize in Literature

The Swedish Academy awarded Bob Dylan the Nobel Prize in Literature for “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”

He is the first American to win since Toni Morrison won in 1993.

The honor comes with a prize worth more than $920,000. The literature prize is awarded for a lifetime of writing rather than for a single work.
