You May Shed a Tear Watching this Red Wings ‘Farewell to the Joe’ Clip

Monday night marked the final Red Wings home opener at Joe Louis Arena.

The Joe, built in 1979, has seen 25 consecutive playoff appearances, four Stanley Cups and housed Detroit hockey legends like The Russian Five, Steve Yzerman and Niklas Lidstrom.

But, most importantly, it’s the birthplace of Hockeytown.

So, as Jeff Daniels narrates in the clip above, we say, “Thanks for the memories, Joe.”
