Nick Offerman, a star of the former hit TV series Parks and Recreation, is coming to Ann Arbor’s Michigan Theater on Friday, Oct. 21, to discuss his passion for wood.

Offerman, noted for his Parks and Rec role as Ron Swanson, will appear for a woodworking discussion and book signing at 7:30 p.m.

The actor’s humorous new how-to book, titled “Good Clean Fun: Misadventures in Sawdust at Offerman Woodshop,” was released on Oct. 18.

Offerman’s previous two books, “Paddle Your Own Canoe: One Man’s Fundamentals for Delicious Living” and “Gumption: Relighting the Torch of Freedom with America’s Gutsiest Troublemakers,” were both featured on the New York Times’ bestsellers list.

Tickets for the event, available at Tickmaster.com, are $39.50 and $49.50. Ticket holders will also receive a copy of “Good Clean Fun” the night of the show.

It’s also worth noting that Offerman is an Illinois native, and Michigan plays Illinois on Saturday in Ann Arbor. So, tailgaters could catch a glimpse of Ron Swanson in the flesh!
