Today (Monday) marks the big 7-0 for Eric Clapton. The three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer — with The Yardbirds, Cream and solo — was born in Ripley, England in 1945 and raised by his grandparents. He never knew his father, and was a teenager when he learned that the woman he believed to be his sister was, in fact, his mother.
Eric Clapton has streamed a new acoustic piece of music in memory of his recently departed Cream bandmate Jack Bruce, titled “For Jack.” Bruce died on Saturday, October 25th of liver disease at age 71. Clapton posted a tribute on his Facebook page: “He was a great musician and composer, and a tremendous inspiration to me.”
